Prepare your pond for the cold months.
As the weather cools, itโs important to prepare your pond for the challenges of fall and winter. Our Winter Preparation service begins in October and helps safeguard your pond against freezing temperatures and excess debris. By investing in fall prep, you ensure an easier spring cleanout and healthier water all year long.
We begin by thoroughly cleaning your filters, including both skimmer and bio-falls units. Aquatic plants are trimmed back to prevent dead material from decaying in the pond, which helps maintain water clarity and balance. Essential winter equipment, such as heaters and aerators, is installed, while UV bulbs are removed and check-valves are opened to protect plumbing from freeze damage.
For added protection, we offer tent and net installations to shield your pond from falling leaves. This proactive step keeps leaves and debris out, minimizing the workload later in the year. In December, once most of the leaves have fallen, we return to remove the nets, leaving your pond clean and protected for winter.
While pricing varies depending on pond size, fall and winter preparation is a smart investment. A clean, well-prepped pond stays healthier during cold months, reducing problems and ensuring spring cleanouts are faster and more effective. With Paradise Ponds And Falls, you can rest easy knowing your pond is safe through every season.
